Fishing on Glenlo Abbey Estate

Lough Corrib offers a plentiful supply of Trout, Salmon, Pike, Perch and Bream making it a haven for the keenest of fishermen or ladies!
The ideal activity while on a relaxing break in the West of Ireland or as part of a team building or incentive group, fishing on Lough Corrib can be a full or half day activity.

For lunch, why not stop off at one of the 365 Islands of the Corrib. At Inchagill, one of the largest islands on the lake, you can explore the remnants of a Monastery dating back some 500 years. The famous Guinness Family used to shoot Pheasant and other Game in Inchagill, while the towering trees and Fauna of the Island will make you think you are a million miles from anyone.
Brown Trout: 15th Feb. - 30th Sept.
Sea Trout: 1st June - 30th Sept.
Salmon: 1st Feb. - 30th Sept.
This Bye-law provides for a daily bag limit of 4 trout of which not more than 1 trout is greater than 10 lbs (4.54 kgs), and prohibits -
(a) the taking of trout less than 13 inches (33 cm),
(b) the use of more than 1 rod or 4 artificial flies when fly fishing,
(c) the use of more than 1 rod when dapping,
(d) the use of more than 2 rods or 4 artificial flies per rod when trolling,
(e) the use of more than 2 rods when bait fishing or spinning, and
(f) the having on board a boat more than 3 rods when more than 1 person is bait fishing, spinning or trolling.
