Our Overseas Wedding was cancelled due to COVID19, do you have dates available for 2021?
We currently have a number of select dates available, we realise that the current situation must have been very upsetting for you but please feel free to make an  appointment and we can discuss options with you directly.

Do you have more than one wedding a day?
No, your day is very special to us so we will never have more than one wedding a day.

What is your maximum capacity?
Our capacities vary as we have a number of different dining options and we can ensure each dining option is set within the current government guidelines inline with social distancing.

Can you cater for smaller weddings?
Yes, we have a selection of rooms to suit smaller and larger weddings.

Can I have a small wedding on a Friday or Saturday?
The hotel has a minimum requirement of 100 adults for a Friday or Saturday wedding

What if my small wedding is in the quieter months?
Friday and Saturdays’ may be possible in the quieter months.

I want to have a civil ceremony for over 100 guests – what is my option?
You can have your ceremony in our beautiful Corrib Suite

Can a priest marry us in the Abbey?
We have had blessings in the Abbey in the past but it would be up to your own priest.

Is it possible to have some guests standing for a ceremony in the Abbey?
It depends on who is performing your ceremony and also ensuring that current social distancing guidelines are being adhered too. The HSE require all guests to be seated for the entire ceremony. Other celebrants such as Humanist, Inter Faith and Spiritual do not have any stipulations.

Is it possible to just have a ceremony in the Abbey?
Yes, it very much depends on availability.

Can I have my ceremony outdoors?
Yes of course, but it is very much weather dependant.

Can I take my photographs on the grounds of the hotel?
Yes, we are very lucky to have a 138 acre lakeside estate with walkways

Is there a minimum requirement for the packages on your website?
Yes, the packages are based on a minimum number of 100 guests.

My guests list is under 100 – what are my options?
We will tailor a package that best suits your requirements.

Do you offer complimentary rooms for the bridal party?
We include the bridal suite complimentary on the night of the wedding.

Can I get ready in the hotel on the morning of my wedding?
You would need to stay in the hotel the night before to guarantee room availability.

Do you offer reduced rates for guests to stay in the hotel?
Yes, depending on the time of year we offer your guests a number of rooms at a reduced rate on the night of the wedding.

Do you include centrepieces for the tables?
Yes, there is a choice of vases and we will always ask you what colour flowers you would like to have.

Can you give us recommendations for wedding suppliers?
Yes, we have an exclusive list of wedding professionals who are frequently at Glenlo Abbey.

Is there a menu tasting included?
There is a menu tasting included with our compliments for the couple.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes of course, just let us know your requirements.

What time does the music and bar finish at?
It depends on what day of the week your wedding. Generally speaking, Friday and Saturday nights, 2am is closing time.

Is there a residents bar and what time does this close?
Yes, there is a resident’s bar and it is up to the discretion of the manager on duty as to the closing time.

What kind of deposit payment is required?
We require a deposit of €2000.00 which is non refundable

Is there somewhere secure to store wedding cards and gifts?
There will be a safe in your room for cards etc. and to also store gifts.
