Covid – 19 Hotel Policy
At Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate our priority is the safety of our hotel guests and our team. Please find below an update on what we are doing to ensure maximum flexibility for your bookings and your wellbeing when you stay with us.
Fáilte Ireland Covid 19 Safety Charter
We have been awarded the Fáilte Ireland Safety Charter, which confirms that we are following recommended guidelines and all of our team members have been trained in hygiene and safety controls. This charter was devised by our national tourism body Fáilte Ireland and is endorsed by the Government of Ireland.
We have adapted all of our public areas to comply with Government guidelines. Signage is in place to remind our guests to maintain social distancing, and our team will ensure we are compliant at all times.
We have limited seating in our bar and restaurant area to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. Due to this all meal times will need to be booked in advance. This can be done prior to your stay by contacting us on 091 519600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Cleaning and Sanitising
Hand sanitising stations are installed at all entrances and exits, public areas, front desk, bar and restaurant, and elevators. Our guest rooms are cleaned to the highest standard, and for your convenience a sanitising wipe is also provided. We have increased cleaning in public areas, all surfaces are regularly sanitised and we are using approved cleaning agents.
Our rigorous cleaning schedule has been elevated to ensure that all touch points in a guest room are fully sanitised between stays.
Our Housekeeping team have been fully trained in sanitising procedures, using approved cleaning agents and are provided with all necessary PPE.
In order to eliminate touch points we have removed all menus and guest directories. These can be accessed via the Glenlo QR code which is supplied in the room, or can be provided on request.
Bar & Restaurant
In order to ensure social distancing all meals, including breakfast, must be pre booked by contacting us on 091 519600 or email email@example.com
In accordance with government legislation alcohol can be served with a meal, and time limits may apply at peak times.
We have increased frequency of cleaning in our Kitchen, Bar, Restaurant and all preparation areas. All surfaces are regularly sanitised.
Our Food & Beverage team have been completed the Fáilte Ireland Covid19 Safety Charter training. We use approved sanitising products in all areas and our staff and management all wear face coverings.
Our menus are available for you to view on your own smart phone or device by using the Glenlo QR code.
We are using single use menus, condiments and napkins in all areas.
Guest are asked to remain seated in the Bar & Restaurant area and table service will be provided.
All tables in use are set at a 2 metre distance to ensure social distancing.
All management and staff will wear a face covering while on duty, with the exception of our reception team whom have a screen in place between themselves and the guest.
All guests and patrons of the hotel are asked to wear face coverings while in the hotel. The only time the face coverings should be removed is when guests are seated and are about to consume an item of food and beverage. We thank you for your co-operation with this.
We have changed the lay out of our Reception area to facilitate check in and check out while maintaining social distancing and installed screens at the front desk.
Guests are asked to provide a credit card for pre-authorisation on check in, and can avail of an express check out option on request.
